Pivot is a son of PLEASANT COLONY, the 1981 Kentucky Derby and
Preakness winner. He was bred by CLAIBORNE FARMS of Paris,
Kentucky out of the unraced mare YOUNG BALLERINA by NIJINSKY
II. Young Ballerina is out of Late Bloomer who is by STAGE DOOR JOHNNY.
PIVOT, fully
nominated to the
Breeders Cup, was unraced as a two year old and raced twice as a three
year old
at Fair Grounds Race Track in New Orleans, earning a 2nd
and a 3rd
in two $30,000 maiden races at a mile and one half and one mile,
respectively.
Shortly
after his second race he suffered an apical fracture of the sesamoid in
his off
fore. Soon thereafter he began a new life with Ann and Dave
Womack, of Montana Sport Horses in Great Falls, Montana. He
began
his life as a breeding stallion and has since sired many wonderful
sport horses. In the fall of 2007, Pivot made the long haul
to
White Moon Farm in Liberty, Missouri to a new life with Amy and Tim
Estes, proud new owners. He will be standing to a limited
number
of mares in the 2008 breeding season.
